Floral Care

Keep them blooming longer

A few minutes of care can add days to your arrangement. Here's how we keep our flowers looking their best — and how you can too.

Trim the stems

Before placing your flowers in water, cut 1–2 cm off each stem at a 45° angle. The angle gives the stem more surface to drink from — and a fresh cut clears any blockages from transit.

Change the water daily

Fresh, clean water is the single best thing you can do for your bouquet. Refill with cool water every day, and give the vase a rinse when you do to keep bacteria at bay.

Keep them cool & shaded

Direct sunlight, radiators, and warm appliances speed up blooming and shorten vase life. A cool spot away from the window lets your flowers open slowly and last longer.

Chill overnight

Want the longest life possible? Place your bouquet somewhere cool overnight — many flowers keep beautifully in a cool room. Just keep them away from ripening fruit, whose gases age flowers faster.

Remove fading blooms

As individual flowers fade, pull them out gently. Removing spent blooms keeps the water cleaner and lets the rest of the arrangement shine — a wilting stem releases bacteria into the water.

Unwrap wrapped bouquets

Wrapped bouquets are for the journey, not the stay. Once home, remove the wrap, trim the stems, and get them into water as soon as you can — even an hour out of water shortens their life.
